The campaign and petition pushed through legislation that requires all non-public-sector employers with 100 or more employees to file public reports on workplace gender equality. Women activists in Australia also swayed the vote to elect a new government, as a result of poor treatment of female MPs and lack of progress in many areas where women are still not equal to men.
