Women's strike of paid and unpaid work

Iceland now has the lowest gender gap in the world at 9.2% across education, financial resources and health statistics (as at 2022). This means that no nation has achieved gender parity. However, the campaign by Icelandic women in 1970's has been re-posted on social media by the World Economic Forum and discussed in feminist literature, such as Caroline Criado Perez's 'Invisible Women', as an example of how to make men acknowledge women's labour and place a higher value on female contributions to society.
