The constitution benefitted from a gendered perspective to protect families and communities. This also inspired many susbequent campaigns and organisations within Tanzania and across Africa. The Africa Women Conference continues to provide a platform for African women from the formal and informal sectors of the economy to discuss and adopt action plans to achieve rapid growth and development.
