Stand up for Women

Let women speak

This campaign is a gender-critical movement that prioritizes biological women at the expense of trans-women. It is important to document the divides within feminism, as it develops, to incorporate more issues because when it was simply 'votes for women', all women could get behind it but now there are competing priorities and those in positions to make decisions must develop robust and comprehensive policies, which account for all women, in all of our diversity, without creating more barriers for the most vulnerable amongst us. In some senses, this means biological women should not be expected to share a jail cell with a transwomen, where they are at risk of sexual violence, or compete against somebody born biologically male in professional sport, where women have already had to fight for generations to make a career as an athlete possible. At the same time, transwomen's human rights and safety should be upheld and their work to advance women's rights should be respected, as they challenge gender roles. Policies should account for different intersections and demographics and safeguard the vulnerable against injustices, so all women can thrive.
