The social media news outlet NZHeerald showcased the results of campaigners to change the justice system to support survivors of sexual assault. The Justice Minister heard from victims and their advocates about where the gapsare in the system. The gaps are being addrssed by changes such as: empowering survivors with greater control over name supression, greater legal protections, aligning the penalty for sexual connection with a child to a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
