Launch of sexual violence support at Crown Courts.

We believe you

Trauma training for court staff and independent sexual or domestic violence advisors are part of a campaign to encourage survivors of sexual assault to trust the courts to prosecute the offender. Historically (and globally) women are often the victim and often have fewer resources than the rapist, which results in shaming women for men's behaviour and a lack of trust that the criminal justice system can help them. This has allowed rapists to get away with sexual assault and intimidate victims into silence, especially as the crime is often committed in private, without witnesses or evidence on non-consent.
