The campaign is a day to celebrate the acheivements of women, which began in 1911. The 2023 theme was #EmbraceEquity and means that people deserve the resources to enable them to reach an equal outcome, since people are all born with access to different resources. The aim for the future is to mobilise worldwide cooperation and investment in gender-responsive programmes to improve gender parity and push forwards against the push-back around the world targeting women's rights.
