This campaign started in response to a misogynistic shooting in California, which sparked debate around violence women experience at the hands of men they know. The hastag #notallmen was countered with the argument that while 'all men' may not be overtly misogynist, all women live in fear of the men who are because there are many and we do not know which men until too late but we are burdened with the responsability for men's behaviour. All women face discrimination for being a woman.
