Casey Report Misogyny in the Met

Following the rape, kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard by a service policeman and the conviction of David Carrick for raping 12 women over a long period of time, by abusing his authority as a policeman, the Casey report found the institution to be racist, homophobic and misogynistic. Cases of sexual assualt and harrassment were common, with no way for senior officers to be held accountable for their abuse of authority. Reforms are being called for to address this widespread behaviour, including whatsapp groups, such as 'Secret Squirrel Shit, where officers applauded violence against women between 2016-2018.
